Travelwatchdog was created in June 2002 as a voluntary service to try to bridge the gap between the power of the travel giants and the individual consumer. Over the four years we have built up a comprehensive profile of the travel industry, dealing with more than 30,000 travel related complaints from consumers in 31 different countries who believed that their holidays and/or travel were degraded to some extent by travel agents, tour operators or travel related services. In many cases our advice has been instrumental is assisting the recovery of very substantial sums of money. Donations from those recovering the money have amounted to less than £200.

We now have a small income from advertisers, but this and the very low level of donations does not fund even a small part of the service. What Do We Offer?

We have very considerable expertise/experience in travel related matters, particularly dealing with complaints, and can assist in the following ways:

a.   Analysis of your case and simple advice about whether you have a legitimate complaint that, if pursued, is likely to succeed. Knowledge is Power. Many claims that are unsuccessful fail because the travel agent/tour operator is the one with the knowledge.

b.   Where a legitimate claim does exist, advice on how best to proceed.

c.   In circumstances where it is likely to be effective, we can contact the travel agent/tour operator to add weight to a case.

d.   Where appropriate we can use the power of publicity to focus minds

We do not 'manage claims' we simply offer our experience and procedural expertise where we are able to do so.
